Amarone della Valpolicella D.O.C.G. - Bertani
The Bertani family has produced wine in the Valpolicella area since 1857. They have historically believed in the individual territories of the Veronese zone, from Valpolicella Classica to Valpantena, from Soave to Lugana. An approach that has been respectful both in the vineyards and in the cellar over the decades, to develop a style that has been rethought over the years, thus staying up-to-date without ever giving into compromises. The production philosophy combines innovation with respect for tradition. For more than a century and a half they have made wines that are recognizable for their identity, wines with a clear and unmistakable stylistic profile.
The 15-20 years old Corvina Veronese and Rondinella vines for the Amarone wine grow in marl-limestone and clay-limestone soil in the Valpantena vineyard. The wine was made according to the classical amarone method. First the grapes were dried in traditional drying rooms on racks for 2-3 months and after the vinification the wine was aged for 2 years in large Slavonian oak barrels followed by at least 6 months in the bottle.
