Vespa Rosso 2015 - Venezia Giulia I.G.T. - Bastianich
The Bastianich winery was founded in 1997 and consists of 27 hectares of vineyards. All the vineyards are located in the Colli Orientali del Friuli, in two distinct areas within the DOC zone - Cividale del Friuli. The goal of the Bastianich winery is to understand the history and culture of Friuli-Venezia Giulia and to create unique wines that speak of place but, at the same time, show remarkable power and balance.
The vineyard for the Vespa Rosso is located in the hills of Premariacco, in the hottest and southernmost area of the DOC area. Influenced by the heat from the sea, it offers grapes for the production of the fuller-bodied and more structured Cru wines. The vineyards are cultivated with hard work and dedication. Cultivation practices in the vineyard are aimed at preserving as much as possible the vine and the soil on which it is planted. This sustainability is also reflected in the choice of vine varieties planted, aimed at enhancing the value of native vines such as Friulano, Ribolla Gialla, Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso and Schioppettino.
