L' Ardenza Sicilia I.G.T. - Cottanera
The vines for the L' Ardenza red wine grow in the rich volcanic soil on Mt. Etna in Cottanera’s vineyards near Castiglione di Sicilia in Northeastern Sicily at an altitude of 700 m.
The grapes were manually harvested, sorted, and destemmed. The grapes were fermented and macerated in stainless-steel tanks, followed by malolactic fermentation. The wine was aged for 12 months in medium toasted French oak barriques followed by 12 months in the bottles.
Colour: Rich ruby red.
Bouquet: Fresh vegetal notes lead on to intense, fruity hints of morello, cherry and blueberry, which blend well with pleasant, fine mineral and spicy scents.
Taste: Pleasantly creamy on the palate, it is well sustained by dense noble tannins and a pleasing full-bodied taste. Long lasting, persistent aftertaste.
Longevity 5-10 years.
