Nero d' Avola - Sicilia D.O.C. - Morgante
The Morgante Winery is situated in Grotte, north of Agrigento. The various vines are scattered amongst a charming landscape interspersed with natural hills and small valleys placed at different altitudes varying from 450 to 500 meters. Thanks to the favoring Mediterranean climatic conditions, the terroir is ideal for viticulture, with a temperature difference between day and night of 10-15 °C, and the particular clayey and calcareous soil.
The grapes were harvested by hand, sorted and destalked followed by fermentation on the skins for 15 days in stainless steel tanks followed by the malolactic fermentation also in steel tanks. The wine was matured for a brief period in French oak barriques. After bottling the wine was refined for another 2-4 months in the bottles.
Longevita 5-7 years.
