L' Eterno Terre Siciliane I.G.T. - Feudi del Pisciotto
This wine comes from an ancient wine producing area, and the Feudi del Pisciotto winery dates back to the 1700s and was once one of the largest in Sicily.
The Pinot Nero vines for this red wine grow in Feudi del Pisciotto’s sandy and stone rich vineyards in Niscemi near Caltagirone in south-eastern Sicily at an altitude of 270 m only 5 km. from the sea. The vineyards therefore benefits from two climate related moderators - its altitude, where it can take advantage of the sea breezes and the significant temperature compensator, which is the sea itself.
The harvesting is done manually followed by careful sorting and destemming of the grapes. Fermentation is done in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks. Maturation takes place in new French oak barriques for 12 months followed by bottle maturation for 6 months.
Longevity 5-10 years.
