The Sauvignon Blanc vineyards for the brilliant straw yellow Baron de L white wine are located around the village of Saint-Andelain in the Loire valley, where the soil is clayey and sandy with layers of pebbles and marl. The vines are between 8 and 55 years old, depending on which of the plots in question are located within a radius of 10 km to the castles to ensure a fast transport of the grapes from the fields to the production.
